Our sessions are judgment-free and move at a pace that feels comfortable to the client. That pacing protects the client's self-worth and ownership throughout the process.
Who the program is for.
We accept Community Access Program applications only from partner agencies with a signed Memorandum of Understanding. Applicants must meet all four requirements.
- Lives in El Paso County, in a stable living environment
- Has worked with your agency for at least 1 month
- Is not enrolled in Medicaid coverage that covers our services
- Can't otherwise afford professional organizing
Applications are reviewed and scored with our Need-Based Scoring Framework. Acceptance depends on available funding and capacity.
Partnering is simple.
Sign an MOU
Your agency signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Impactful Organizing. Reach out and we'll send it over.
Refer qualifying clients
Submit an application for each client. We review applications on the first Wednesday of each month. Submit at least 2 days before to be considered.
Hear back and get started
You and the applicant hear from us within 3 business days of the review. Accepted applicants schedule their first visit within 4 weeks.

Discovery session
A 45-minute visit to learn the client's goals, priorities, and home.
6 organizing hours
Hands-on organizing with 2 team members, alongside the client.
Organizing supplies
A small budget for supplies, purchased for the client based on project need.
Follow-up session
A 2-hour skills review with one team member to fine-tune the new systems.

My client has Colorado Medicaid. Do they need a referral?
No. Clients with Colorado Medicaid can reach out to us directly, or a care coordinator or provider can refer them. See No-Cost Help →
If your client isn't on Medicaid, you can refer them through the Community Access Program.

Applicants must:
- Live in El Paso County, in a stable living environment
- Have worked with your agency for at least 1 month
- Not be enrolled in Medicaid coverage that covers our services

What's the difference between Medicaid and the Community Access Program?
It's the same core service, hands-on home organizing and daily living skills training, through two funding paths. The Medicaid path is for clients whose Health First Colorado coverage includes our services. The Community Access Program is funded by private donations and grants for clients who aren't covered by Medicaid for these services, and it's the path agencies refer clients into.
What is the referral process?
- Submit a Community Access Program application with your client's information and consent.
- We review applications on the first Wednesday of each month. Submit at least 2 days before to be considered.
- You and the applicant hear from us within 3 business days of the review.
- Accepted applicants schedule their first visit within 4 weeks. It starts with an in-home Discovery Session to build a plan with the client.
Do I need to see the client's space in person?
No. What matters most is a sense of how clutter and disorganization in the space are affecting the applicant's life.
What commitment is required of clients?
The client needs to be present and take part in sessions. The client and their organizer make a custom plan together to declutter and organize one space so daily life is easier.
What follow-up support do clients receive?
A 2-hour Follow-Up and Skills Review Session with one organizer to fine-tune the systems put in place.
How can I explain what Impactful Organizing offers?
People can feel a lot of shame around an unmanageable home. Here's one way to bring it up:
1. Curiosity: "I've noticed that keeping track of papers (or finding things, or an overflowing pantry) seems stressful for you."
2. Empathy: "You're dealing with a lot. It makes sense that this feels unmanageable."
3. Offer: "Mind if I share an idea? I know a place that offers professional organizing at no cost. They help people tackle clutter and create systems that make daily life easier. Would you like to learn more?"

What is your confidentiality policy?
Our services are very personal, and we respect that clients are inviting us into their homes. We follow HIPAA privacy standards and Colorado's mandatory reporter laws. If a client wants us to coordinate with another agency involved in their care, we use an optional Authorization to Release Information form. Signing it is voluntary, doesn't affect their services, and can be revoked at any time. We may share non-identifiable information about projects for fundraising or promotion.
Do you help with homes like the ones on Hoarders?
We aren't set up for whole-house projects like the ones on that show. We do help with some hoarding situations, with a targeted plan for each project that puts safety and wellbeing first.
