Donor questions

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Our Tax ID number is 88-2070144: Sponsor A Space, doing business as Impactful Organizing. Every donation gets a tax-deductible receipt.

What does my donation pay for?

Your donation goes directly toward a project to improve a neighbor's space and life. See “How much does a typical project cost?” below for the breakdown. Private donations also cover our overhead costs outside of projects.

How much does a typical project cost?

A typical project costs $1,000. This includes:

  • $50 Discovery Session: an in-home visit to talk through needs, goals, and organizing solutions
  • $250 worth of organizing products
  • $700 for two 3-hour organizing sessions with two professional organizers. Sessions include sorting and decluttering, setting up simple systems, and donation drop-off.
Who receives help?

Neighbors referred by our social services partners. For them, clutter is an emotional barrier that holds them back from self-sufficiency, like keeping a job or a safe home for children. We're working through Colorado Medicaid enrollment, and our team brings clinical training, professional organizing credentials, and background checks to every project.

Can I donate supplies?

Yes. We share specific project needs on Facebook, Instagram, and our Amazon wishlist. Because of storage limits, we can't accept general drop-off donations outside that list.

Can I refer someone who needs help?

Can I help organize?

Yes. In-home volunteers work alongside our organizers after a background check and two short online trainings, since client projects are sensitive. You can also help behind the scenes with events, supplies, and outreach. Visit our volunteer page to see what’s involved and apply.

Do you help with homes like the ones on Hoarders?

We aren't set up for whole-house projects like the ones on that show. We do help with some hoarding situations, with a targeted plan for each project that puts safety and wellbeing first.
