We're the only nonprofit in Colorado providing professional organizing sessions to at-risk neighbors identified by local partners — thanks to local donors.
COS families face severe living and housing problems like unsafe conditions.U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development, 2020
For some, it's more than just clutter. Their living environment is holding back their lives and impacting their safety or mental health.
Problem is, not only is it hard to know which neighbors are drowning in a tough season, not everyone is equipped to help.
That's where we come in.
Whether it's an unsafe living space for seniors or children, partner or sexual violence, or even long-term medical, mental health, or behavioral issues, some people are in a season where they need a bit of extra help in Colorado Springs.
We're helping needs-based Colorado Springs residents, who are identified by a social services agency partner, with professional organizing support to help them overcome an overwhelming season in their lives.
We are able to take on these projects through your donations, and lives are changed. Just $25 helps more spaces get sponsored and transformed.
Help us by donating today. Every little bit helps.

These project candidates have been identified by leading local social services organizations as neighbors who are in the greatest need for organizing support services. If it were not for Impactful Organizing sponsors like you, these services would not be possible. Colorado Springs neighbors need your help.

When we get donations, a household is moved off our waitlist and transformed to improve lives in our community.

By becoming a donor, you are helping specific emotional well-being needs in your community. Thank you! All donor payments will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt along with an update about the impact of your donation. All projects are anonymous out of respect of the emotional journey for that neighbor.
"I really appreciate Impactful Organizing so much for coming and not judging me. This has been an incredibly hard season, and I feel like such a failure. THANK YOU for truly helping us get back some space for my mental health and sanity."
All Projects start with a Discovery Session to determine what's needed to be successful long-term.
Every gift helps, one-time or monthly. Monthly donors help us plan ahead for families on the waitlist.
Prefer to give supplies instead of cash? Grab something from our Amazon wishlist, the exact items we use with clients, or send us an Amazon gift card and we'll pick up what's needed most.
For Impactful Organizing recipients, their clutter is an emotional barrier that is holding them back from self-sufficiency, such as maintaining a job or managing a safe home environment for children. We're an approved Colorado Medicaid provider, and our team brings clinical training, professional organizing credentials, and required background checks to every project, so recipients get support that's both compassionate and credentialed.
A typical project costs $1,000. This includes:
Your donation goes directly toward a project to improve a neighbor's space and life. See the question above "How much does a typical project cost?" for the cost breakdown. Private donations cover our overhead costs outside of projects. Full transparency is important to us: view our IRS Tax-Exempt Determination Letter, our 2024 IRS Form 990-EZ, and our 2023 Impact Report.

It depends on their situation. If they have Colorado Medicaid, they can join our Medicaid waitlist for our free in-home organizing program. If they're already working with one of our Social Services Partners, that agency can visit our website and fill out the Community Access Program form and we'll help facilitate a referral. We're not yet able to take open applications outside of those two paths, but we're actively growing our partner network, reach out if you'd like to become a referral partner.
Yes, in some ways! Because of the sensitive nature of client projects, all staff and volunteers who work directly with clients go through required training and background checks. We do welcome volunteers in other ways, like events, outreach, and planning, that don't require the same level of screening. Reach out through our contact form to share your interest, and we'll follow up about current opportunities.
Impactful Organizing is not currently structured to assist with whole house projects like those featured on Hoarders. We do help with some hoarding-like situations. Each project has a targeted approach to address safety and well-being needs.
